Disability Insurance
Winged Keel Group's position as one of
the leading writers of individual disability insurance in the
U.S. gives our clients preferred access to this specialty marketplace.
Some of the companies that Winged Keel Group
has worked with to take advantage of this unique position are:
UBS and UBS Wealth Management -
WKG was hired to harmonize two very different Long-Term
Disability (LTD) benefit platforms and create a new plan for the
combined companies. The expertise acquired in managing LTD
benefits allowed us to design and implement the new plan,
covering over 25,000 employees, in a relatively short period of
time.
Citigroup -
WKG was selected to facilitate the harmonization of Long-Term
Disability benefits among 13 separate operating companies
including Salomon Smith Barney and Travelers. The
harmonization process required meticulous pricing analysis and
benefit comparisons to produce one plan that would meet the
needs of the entire organization, including expatriates.
WKG took responsibility for all administration, including
developing and sending out personalized enrollment
communications, handling phone calls, billing, and claims
coordination. WKG is currently serving over 2,500 policies
for former and current Citigroup employees.
Barclays Bank - Based on
the recommendation of KPMG Peat Marwick benefit consultants,
Barclays Bank selected Winged Keel Group
to enroll a new supplemental long-term disability offering to
cover bonus compensation for over 1,000 eligible executives.
Thermo Electron Corporation -
Thermo Electron engaged Winged Keel Group to design and implement an Executive
LTD benefit which provides a higher monthly benefit maximum than
their base LTD plan and covers bonus compensation for over 1,000
eligible executives.
General Reinsurance (GenRe) -
GenRe utilized the services of Winged Keel Group to offer supplemental
individual policy coverage to its employees in order to allow
disability protection on bonus compensation.
ProQuest -
ProQuest selected Winged Keel Group to enroll a supplemental individual Long-Term Disability benefit allowing executives to protect their bonus compensation. ProQuest turned to Winged Keel Group for continuous enrollment capabilities which ensure that the benefit is offered to newly eligible employees on an ongoing basis.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Winged Keel Group helps clients evaluate
the leading long-term care insurance carriers and implement
the type of plan design that would be the most suitable, considering
the size, culture, and demographics of the group.
Russell Reynolds Associates
- Winged Keel Group facilitated
a long-term care (LTC) enrollment for the employees of Russell
Reynolds Associates. This enrollment took full advantage of
the unique tax benefits granted to qualified LTC plans. The
Russell Reynolds plan is 100% employer funded. The premiums
are deductible as a business expense to the corporation, and
benefits are nontaxable to the employees.
Deutsche Bank - Winged Keel Group
helped the Human Resources Department at Deutsche Bank design
and enroll a voluntary long-term care benefit. Over
14,000 eligible employees were offered portable policies
regardless of their health status, and the discounted premium
rates were also made available to spouses, parents, and in-laws.
